Discuss your goals and available time
Explain why you are considering preservation, when you can attend and any relevant medical history or medication. Bring existing reports; the clinician decides which assessment is required.
Understand the cycle
Ask where monitoring occurs, how retrieval and anaesthesia are arranged, and when the clinic provides the number of eggs frozen and the storage report.
Separate present and future costs
The reference base cycle is $9,000. Initial checks, medication, anaesthesia and annual storage are additional. Later thawing, fertilisation, culture and transfer need a separate assessment and budget.
Confirm storage arrangements
Keep the storage provider, consent documents, renewal fee and contact details. Ask what to do if your contact information changes, you wish to transfer samples or you stop storage.
Understand the limits
Egg freezing preserves a possibility, not a guarantee of future pregnancy or birth. Discuss the expected outcome and limitations for your circumstances rather than relying on a single headline success rate.
